Pan.Thy.Monium

Pan.Thy.Monium, a wonderful find in the metal world. Starting out from darkened sludge (on …..Dawn) and progressing through many sounds as they begun to incorporate different styles and instruments, ending in an album of marvellous progressive metal with saxophone, cheesy guitar solos and all kinds of indescribable but highly enjoyable styles blended into what are each very unique death metal art pieces.
I never have words to describe the joyous brilliance of this band, but they were really something else. This is a collection of all CD releases, which includes everything except their first demo tape (also released on limited edition vinyl with Dream II).

Gorguts - Obscura

The world is still being deprived of this monolithic album of progressive death metal. One of the very few death metal albums that can truly termed as progressive. Thanks to the unique mind and technique of guitarist Steeve Hurdle (also of Negativa, now sadly deceased) Gorguts developed a sound like nothing before them. Technical in ways that many people can't even hear it can be beyond their perception, with none of that meaningless masturbatory shred that fills much so-called progressive or technical metal. Gorguts here weave magnificent and complex spiders webs with a technical skill subtle and tasteful, yet abrasive, that is undeniable and could stand up to anything in its own light.

They still can't re-release the CD so this will be here until they do, you can buy all other Gorguts albums and support the band, as well as the beautiful EP from Negativa.

Terry Scott Taylor - Neverhood Songs

The long out of print soundtrack to The Neverhood, the clay animated point-and-click masterpiece from the creator of Skullmonkeys and Earthworm Jim. A wonderful mix of sounds which I would never want to lack in my collection, with standouts that will please many.

The Deserts of Träun - Part III: The Lilac Moon

We'll start with something spectacular.
This is a project from the original drummer of Estradasphere and the recordings features various other members. A genre-hopping soundtrack to an animated film trilogy that does not yet exist (see trailer at bottom of post) progressive music, jazz, electronica, black metal and a lot more, perfectly constructed into a truly brilliant album.
This is not a well known project and the CD is out of print, so here is the FLAC for all the brains and ears that can appreciate this delicious and nutritious food.
Dave Murray is currently working on a 2CD album, re-recording all from this release with the addition of new tracks and fresh recordings of the Tholus material. You can follow and support his work here: http://www.notdavemurray.com
