Gorguts - Obscura

The world is still being deprived of this monolithic album of progressive death metal. One of the very few death metal albums that can truly termed as progressive. Thanks to the unique mind and technique of guitarist Steeve Hurdle (also of Negativa, now sadly deceased) Gorguts developed a sound like nothing before them. Technical in ways that many people can't even hear it can be beyond their perception, with none of that meaningless masturbatory shred that fills much so-called progressive or technical metal. Gorguts here weave magnificent and complex spiders webs with a technical skill subtle and tasteful, yet abrasive, that is undeniable and could stand up to anything in its own light.

They still can't re-release the CD so this will be here until they do, you can buy all other Gorguts albums and support the band, as well as the beautiful EP from Negativa.
